Thank you Victoria!!!!

Over the last two days, I saw a middle school and a High school. It was a wonderful experience.
I would like to say thank you so much for everybody that helped me in this course. Thank you to my mom, dad, thanks to Patricia who helped us a lot, for Zimmer, Pam and Kim, to my teacher Maria, and for all the staff who helped us to make the course an unforgettable experience for my life!
Next year, I hope that I can come back and spend more time in this wonderful country.
For all the people that want to come to Canada, I would like to say come and enjoy this beautiful country. Canada has many good things to offer us!!!!

Monday

This Monday, we went to the Royal BC Museum. There we saw a little bit of the old Egyptian culture and some animals that lived here millions of years ago, like the Woolly Mammoth. It was amazing and incredible.
We saw the Aborigines culture exhibit too. It was very nice and interesting. There also was a village that showed how the city was some years ago. So we had feeling that we were walking in a Canadian village some years ago. It was wonderful and unforgettable.

Vancouver

On weekend, we went to Vancouver and we went to the Vancouver Aquarium. It was fabulous! We saw a wonderful show of dolphins and a beluga family.
We also went to Kitsilano beach which was very nice too. It was different than Brazilian beaches because Vancouver doesn't have palm trees.
The city is very nice but I think that it's a little bit different than Victoria. Vancouver is a larger city than Victoria, so there is more traffic and the houses are not as pretty, but it's a good city too.

Friday: Vancouver!

Yesterday, Thursday, we saw the Craigdarroch Castle. It was fantastic and I was amazed when I saw this incredible castle. I took a lot of pictures.
Today, we will go to Vancouver and I hope that it will be a marvelous trip.
There, we will see the Capilano Park and the Grouse Mountain and I think that it will be incredible and stunning, because the city of Vancouver is wonderful, like Victoria.

School Visit

On Wednesday, we went to Braefoot Elementary School to see the teachers and the students in their daily routine at school. It was perfect and amazing, because we could see their realities and compare them with our realities in Brazil. It was a very good experience, it was amazing!

All the classes are different than in Brazil. Here in Canada, the students can get a good education in a public school. Each class has no more than 25 students which is so important for good teaching.
All the kids are well behaved, and everybody wants to learn more and read more. It was amazing and incredible.
Next week, we will go to a High School to see teenage students. I think that it will be wonderful for my teaching area.

First day in Victoria

On Saturday, when I arrived in Victoria BC, I met my homestay family.



They're very cool and nice. After that, Luciana and I saw our house and a little bit of the city, which was amazing.













On Sunday, we went to whales watch and we saw the parlament that is wonderfull and we went to the butchard gardens, it`s more than wonderfull, very pretty, I loved there.
On Monday, we went to our school, the Uplands Campus. It's a elementary school and we saw a little bit of the school and what are we going to do, how can we go by bus for our homestay and our school, it was very nice.
On Tuesday, we went to the Uplands again and we have learned a bunch of songs and children games. In the afternoon, we went downtown to see the BC Legislative Buildings and I went shopping on Victoria's streets.

Introduction

My name is Greice and I come from Brazil, Sao Paulo.
I live with my parents and my dog in a beautiful house. I have one younger sister who is eleven years old.
I chose this course because I`m a Portuguese and English teacher and I work in a bilingual school. My students are 5 years old. I think it`s important to improve my English for my job and for myself too.
I have a degree in education. Now, I`m doing graduate studies. My specialty is literature, but I have other interests: I like to read, to listen to musics, to watch movies, etc.
I hope that this course helps me to perfect my English .
